Library
At Buckner Fanning School, our Library Special is more than just books—it's a gateway to imagination, discovery, and lifelong learning. Designed to inspire a love of reading and equip students with essential research and literacy skills, the Library Special is an integral part of our students’ weekly curriculum.
What We Offer
Engaging Weekly Library Time: Every class visits the library once a week for a dedicated Library Special session. During this time, students enjoy read-alouds, explore new genres, and participate in hands-on activities that reinforce key literacy concepts.
Curated Book Selection: Our collection is thoughtfully selected to reflect diverse voices, foster curiosity, and support classroom learning. From classic literature to the latest in children’s fiction and non-fiction, there’s something for every reader.
Research & Digital Literacy Skills: Upper-grade students build confidence in using research tools, navigating digital resources safely, and evaluating information—all essential skills in today’s world.
Seasonal Themes & Special Events:
We keep reading fun and fresh with seasonal themes, author visits and spotlights, and reading challenges that get the whole school community involved.
