Nicole Frederick
1st Grade Teacher
Hello! My name is Nicole Frederick, and I am thrilled and blessed to be
teaching first grade at BFSMS. The most exciting part will be getting to
know each of your children and finding ways to help nurture and develop
their love of learning.
I graduated from Western Washington University with a bachelor’s degree
in elementary education and obtained my master’s degree in counseling
psychology from Pacific University. I have worked and taught in a variety of
environments. Whether it be working in a preschool, teaching homeless
children in downtown Seattle, substituting, teaching at a learning center, or
teaching in a first/second grade multiage classroom, I have loved it all.
Additionally, I have experience working with children, adolescents, and
adults as a therapist doing short-term clinical interventions in a medical
setting. I find so much joy in watching children make new discoveries,
develop new interests, and helping them meet their goals.
As to my personal life, I am an adoptive mom of three gorgeous kiddos. My
son Zander is a sophomore at Reagan and an avid football player, my
daughter Lainey attends Lopez and loves drawing and Girl Scouts (I am so
excited to be a one of her troop leaders), and my little outgoing gymnast,
Madeline, is 5 and will be attending Kinder at BFSMS this year.
My husband is a clinical psychologist for the Air Force, and we have been
together for 25 years (married for 22). We have been very fortunate to live
on three continents and to travel around the world.
This is going to be such an incredible year full of exciting units of study and
hands on learning experiences. Thank you for the honor of teaching your
children.
