Lisa Watson
2nd Grade Teacher
I began my career in public education as a classroom teacher, teaching students in grades 2 through 5. While I enjoyed teaching every subject, mathematics quickly became my passion. I was thrilled to transition into the role of Instructional Math Coach, where I had the privilege of supporting both students and teachers in strengthening mathematics instruction across my campus.
After several rewarding years, I embraced a new challenge in Gifted and Talented Education. Leading the G/T program at my campus was an incredibly fulfilling experience, allowing me to nurture students' curiosity, creativity, and love of learning. I later had the opportunity to serve at the district level as a Gifted and Talented Instructional Specialist, where I supported and helped strengthen the district's G/T program. Each role has shaped me as an educator and reinforced my passion for helping students and teachers thrive.
Now, I am excited to begin this next chapter in a Christian private school setting. Returning to the classroom and working closely with students, families, and the exceptional staff at Buckner Fanning is a true blessing, and I look forward to being part of this wonderful community.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family. My husband, our twin daughters, and our sweet rescue dog love cozy movie nights filled with popcorn and plenty of snacks. I also enjoy traveling, reading scripture, and cheering on my daughters as they participate in their extracurricular activities.
One of my favorite bible verses is:
“For I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” - Philippians 4:13
I am looking forward to a great year with the Buckner Fanning Community!
