Cynthia McDaniel

Middle School History Teacher

Greetings! As a middle school teacher, I am so thrilled to teach engaging Core Knowledge content at Buckner Fanning School at Mission Springs. This will be my seventh year of teaching at BFSMS as well as my seventh year as a San Antonian. My husband, Todd, and I were ecstatic to move to San Antonio for his job and to be closer to the Hill Country as we just finished building a new home this year.

Prior to moving here, I taught two years of 6th-8th grade English and history at a private academy in Plano, Texas for athletic and gifted students. Before obtaining my teaching certification from Collin College two year program, I earned a Bachelor of Science in Journalism from North Texas State University followed by a career in media account relations and publishing.

I am a native Texan who loves to travel with my wonderful husband of twenty-five years, explore San Antonio, visit museums, attend symphonies, collect historical ornaments, discover hidden back-road diners, attend church, and cheer on the Spurs. Three years ago, we’ve added two adorable and energetic rough collie puppies to our household named Ronald Reagan (Ronnie) and Margaret Thatcher (Maggie) who have made our hearts grow two sizes larger. I am elated to be a part of BFSMS and blessed to be a part of your child’s education!
